Women emerging as key decisions makers for home buying decisions- Zennlivving Consumer survey

Over the years, with more and more women coming to the fore front in making long term financial decisions, an ever increasing number of women have been making individual and independent investments in the real estate market.

Based on a recent survey by zennlivving research survey conducted, real estate is a preferred investment class by women decision makers. Investments independently by women has seen a major rise of 10-12% % yoy over the past 3 years.

Over 71% of women responders in the survey had preferred real estate to be their preferred investment asset class. Among the various configurations- Most 47% responders preferred 3bhk’s while 26% preferred 2bhk’s and over 18% preferred 4bhks and more.

In a welcome and celebrated change, Women looking at real estate as an investment perspective have seen a major increase compared to the previous years. More than 25% responders were interested in real estate as a investment class and around 75% viewed real estate from an end user perspective. Women individually looking at real estate as an investment asset has seen a rise of over 13% compared to the previous year.

Location preferences:

Among the responders of the survey, over 28% of women were looking at outskirts with larger amenities while around 48% were looking at buying homes within city limits. A good 18% were looking at city centres’.

Budget Preferences:

Around 70% women preferred properties in the mid and premium segments while 27% were looking at properties in the luxury segment. Among the 70% approx. 37% were looking at homes within the 40-85 lakh budgets. Approx 2% buyers were interested in properties in the ultra luxury segments.

Last year, less than 60% women were preferring homes in the budget within 90 lakhs.

Investment Stage Preferences :

More than 75% women responders preferred properties that were ready to move or to be completed over the next one year with around 15% interested in newly launched projects with only 10% interested in projects in the mid construction phase.
