The life journey of Mr. Sachin Shigwan is a classic example of reaching the epitome where title is not a consequence but a recognition. Starting baby steps into social entrepreneurship with a recreational value, within a decade made him extra ordinary. His value proposition towards any project that he took over had a huge concern for the social good of people in need.
In 2009, When Solar Energy had started popularizing in India, Mr. Sachin stepped into this technologically composite industry with no prior experience. Sustainable adeptness & decentralized usage of Solar Energy always attracted him to take this technology to Rural India where masses were deprived of Electricity access. With a profound knowledge in Rural Development, Mr. Sachin Shigwan started developing villages through small-scale projects. These initiatives had a look over by multiple news journalist and heard the benefited people call him ‘The Solar Man Of India’
Limited thought could diminish the impact, resulting in the formation of Green India Initiative as a social enterprise in 2014 where The Solar Man of India, Sachin Shigwan started executing multi-dimensional projects using Solar Power. He eradicated the issues relating to Educational discomfort, Digital education, Water supply & filtration, Streets illumination & many more with help of Corporate CSR and sustainable initiatives driving for Climate Change along with sustainable development.
Within a 9 year span of operating, The Solar Man of India had a substantial presence in more than 13 states of India and Green India Initiative had completed a mark of 600+ projects in total. The count continued to rise beyond 1,00,000+ beneficiaries with ongoing projects to form a community who uses Solar Energy for a comprehensive living. He made his team believe the purpose of such Solar sustainable initiatives & imbibed in them the curiosity about social wellbeing & emotional satisfaction accompanied along with the underprivileged villagers. Team GIIPL trusted the process and is well along striving for the vision & mission for the organization. Team includes – Mr. Rushabh Vasa – Director, Mr. Suyog Gangavane – Business Director, Er. More than a decade-long journey of Mr. Sachin Shigwan in sowing the seeds of development in Rural soil, resulted in showering of flower-like recognition between authorities & masses of India. He was popularly being called as ‘The Solar Man of India’ wherever he passed by.
One such recognition which peaked the value of goodwill, changing the prefix of his name was when Mr. Sachin Shigwan was conferred with an International Honorary Doctorate in Rural Development through Solar Energy, an honoris-causa by Social Awareness and Peace University, Florida, USA on 29th July, 2023. Mr. Sachin Shigwan is now being called as Dr. Sachin Shigwan by the people. This recognition made him realize that good work in the society is always appreciated by people, creating a compounding effect in the form of such acknowledgements.
Future Plans:
The Solar Man of India, Mr. Sachin has a mission of illuminating the lives of 1 Million Rural Children by distribution of 1 Million Solar Lanterns. Training & Employee Engagement program for 1 Million Corporate employees for advocacy about Solar & Sustainable Development Goals in the Urban space.
The ongoing mission of Solar Electrifying 1000 villages by 2025 to be completed before time & continuing to develop a touch base for 6,00,000 villages development comprehensively in the future.
