Self-Taught Dancer Ekamdeepsingh Becomes In-Demand Choreographer for Punjabi Music Videos

Punjab, India, August 31, 2024: One name that has been making the entertainment industry groove is Ekamdeepsingh in the world of Punjabi entertainment. Born on January 25, 2000, in the quaint village of Balewal near Batala, Punjab, this young choreographer has quickly become a sought-after talent in the Punjabi film industry.

Ekamdeepsingh, son of Gopal Singh, discovered his passion for dance at an early age. Despite completing his formal education up to 12th standard, he chose to pursue his dream in dance and choreography. “Dance has always been what I move towards,” Ekamdeepsingh shares. “Even as a child, I would spend hours watching music videos and trying to recreate the moves.”

His journey in the entertainment industry began with small projects, but his talent and dedication soon caught the eye of established professionals. Ekamdeepsingh’s career took a significant leap when he started working with choreographers in the film industry, not just in India but also abroad. His international exposure includes projects in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, broadening his perspective and enriching his choreographic style.

“Working internationally has been really helpful for me,” Ekamdeepsingh recalls. “It exposed me to different dance styles and cultures, which I’ve been able to incorporate into my work back home.”

In a relatively short span, Ekamdeepsingh has left his mark on over 80 music videos in the Punjabi music industry. His choreography can be seen in popular songs like ‘Sanu Rang’ by Amrinder Bobby, ‘Kion’ by Sheera Jasvir, and ‘Dil Ton Leh Gaye’ by Davinder Sony. Other notable works include ‘2 Peg’ by Kulwinder Shahi, ‘Propose’ by Happy Raja, and ‘Thar’ by Manjeet Shonki.

Ekamdeepsingh’s versatility shines through in his ability to choreograph for different genres and artists. From the soulful ‘Qatal’ by Maninder Batth to the energetic ‘Jogiya’ by Roop Bhatti, he has showcased his ability to translate emotions into movements. “Each song tells a story,” he explains. “My job is to bring that story to life through dance.”

Apart from choreographing music videos, Ekamdeepsingh has also made significant contributions to the world of short films. He has choreographed for over 25 short films, including popular titles like ‘Saloon,’ ‘Taxi Driver,’ ‘Singhni,’ ‘Last Night,’ ‘First Love,’ and ‘Sada Pind.’ This diversification into short films has allowed him to explore narrative-driven choreography, further honing his skills as a storyteller through dance.

“Short films presented me with a challenge,” Ekamdeepsingh notes. “You have to convey so much in such a short time. It’s taught me the importance of precision and impact in choreography.”

Ekamdeepsingh, who has worked with the renowned Neeru Films banner and is currently collaborating with the director Neeru Bala, remains grounded and committed to his craft despite his success. He continues to push boundaries and experiment with new styles, always striving to bring something fresh to the Punjabi entertainment scene.
