The Visionary Behind the Space
In the world of luxury hospitality, few designers possess the ability to blend cosmic wonder with grounded sophistication. Bhavna Jaiswal, Senior Designer and CEO of Beyond Boundaries Interiors, has once again shattered expectations with her latest project: Barish Lounge & Rooftop.
Under Jaiswal’s leadership, the firm has moved “beyond boundaries” to create an environment that doesn’t just host guests—it envelops them in a sensory narrative of light, texture, and rhythm.
Design Philosophy: The Night Sky Reimagined
The centerpiece of the Barish experience is its architectural lighting. Jaiswal has curated a “starry night” ambiance that feels both vast and intimate.
- The Celestial Ceiling: A field of fiber-optic “stars” is punctuated by fluid, wave-like neon installations, creating a sense of infinite movement above the diners.
- The Focal Point: A magnificent, cascading crystal chandelier hangs above the marble bar like a frozen waterfall, casting a warm, shimmering glow that contrasts with the cool, cobalt-blue backlit shelving.
Materiality and Texture
Jaiswal’s signature touch lies in the rich, tactile palette. The design avoids the “coldness” of many modern lounges by balancing sleek surfaces with soft, inviting materials:
- Velvet Sophistication: Plush, curved booth seating in deep teal provides a mid-century modern flair and exceptional comfort.
- Metallic Accents: Gold and polished brass accents in the pendant lighting and furniture legs add a layer of “quiet luxury.”
- Organic Patterns: The entrance features dramatic, feather-patterned wall coverings that echo the fluidity of the natural world.
Architectural Zoning
Beyond Boundaries Interiors has mastered the art of “social zoning,” ensuring that Barish caters to every mood:
- The High-Energy Hub: A sleek marble bar featuring ergonomic high-stools and a vibrant, illuminated back-bar.
- The Private Nook: Semi-circular booths nestled against dark wood-paneled walls, perfect for intimate conversations.
- The Open Lounge: Circular marble-top tables that follow the organic flow of the ceiling’s light paths.
A Final Word from the Designer:
“Design is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about how a space makes you feel. At Barish, we wanted to capture the magic of the evening—the moment when the sky meets the city.” Bhavna Jaiswal.
