On 14th April 2022, the Asian Literary Society and ALS Women’s Alliance (an initiative by ALSphere Foundation) organized “ALS WOMEN’S ALLIANCE CONCLAVE 2022” at The Hive, Dubai. ALS Women’s Alliance this program was aimed to highlight the remarkable achievements of UAE-based women entrepreneurs and urge the members that they don’t need to be restricted to specific areas; there are many great opportunities around, one just needs to follow their passion.
The event began with an inaugural address by Mr. Manoj Krishnan (Founder, Asian Literary Society). He stressed upon the need for stronger participation of aspiring women entrepreneurs from all Asian countries and inspire millions of women of Asia. He also highlighted the remarkable achievements of UAE-based Women entrepreneurs.
Ms. Nisha Tandon (Chapter Head, ALS UAE) revealed that female entrepreneurship had seen massive growth in the UAE. While figures tend to focus primarily on Emirati women (whose business ownership has increased by a factor of 14 from 2006 and 2013) there is an increase in female Small & Medium Enterprise ownership across the board, including expats.
On this occasion guest speakers Ms. Malavika Varadan (Founder, The Hive), Ms. Gulshan Kavrana (Founder, Special Families Support Group (SFS), Ms. Rahima Amiraly (Founder of Rising Stars), Ms. Anita Bhatia (Founder, Minsta), Ms. Natasha Shrimanker (Founder, Gourmet Veg Platter), Ms. Shanna Thomas (Fitness Trainer) and Ms. Malvika Sengupta (Management Professional) enthralled the audience with their incredible journey and inspiring stories. A Rendezvous with Guinness Book Record Holder Team (largest knitted blanket) of Ms. Rajni Agarwal and Ms. Shashi Bhatia was also organized in the conclave.
The event was moderated by Ms. Nisha Tandon and Ms. Ketki Raina.
The program ended with the felicitation of all the participating women entrepreneurs by Ms. Shivpriya (Director, ALSphere Foundation) and a vote of thanks.
