Rajkot (Gujarat) [India], March 9, 2026: With lifestyle disorders increasingly affecting women across Gujarat, Wockhardt Hospitals, Rajkot marked International Women’s Day by organizing two specialized health workshops focused on the physical and mental wellbeing of modern working women.
Recent health data indicates that lifestyle-related disorders are rising rapidly among women in Gujarat. Studies suggest that around 12.4% of women in the state are living with diabetes, while hormonal conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affect nearly 10-12% of women of reproductive age in India, with urban lifestyles further increasing the risk. Additionally, anaemia remains a major concern, with nearly 65% of women in Gujarat aged 15–49 affected, highlighting the urgent need for awareness around nutrition, hormonal balance and preventive healthcare.
Recognizing these growing concerns, Wockhardt Hospitals conducted two interactive workshops bringing together physicians, psychiatrists and dieticians to address the evolving health needs of working women.
The first workshop, titled “Balancing Hormones, Mind & Metabolism – The Modern Working Woman’s Survival Guide,” focused on common but often overlooked health challenges among working women. Physicians discussed medical conditions such as thyroid disorders, PCOS, anemia, fatigue and lifestyle-related metabolic issues, while psychiatrists highlighted the psychological impact of mood swings, anxiety and burnout caused by balancing professional and personal responsibilities. Dieticians also shared practical guidance on hormone-friendly diets and maintaining daily energy balance through sustainable nutrition habits.
The second workshop, “Stress, Sleep & Sugar – The Hidden Health Triangle in Working Women,” explored the strong link between stress, sleep disruption and metabolic disorders. Medical experts explained how conditions like diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, PCOS and vitamin deficiencies are increasingly linked with modern work-life patterns. Mental health specialists discussed the effects of irregular sleep cycles, anxiety and digital overload, while dieticians provided insights on blood sugar, balancing meals, mindful caffeine consumption and healthier dietary patterns for long-term wellbeing.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospitals, said,
“Women today are balancing multiple roles and responsibilities, often placing their own health at the bottom of their priority list. At Wockhardt Hospitals, we believe empowering women with knowledge about hormonal health, mental wellbeing and lifestyle balance is essential. Through initiatives like these workshops, we aim to encourage women to recognize early warning signs and take proactive steps towards preventive healthcare.”
Adding to this, Ms. Amiya Sahoo, Group HR Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, said,“Women are an integral part of the workforce and their wellbeing directly impacts families, workplaces and communities. Creating awareness around issues such as stress management, sleep health and metabolic disorders is critical in today’s fast-paced work environment. Through these initiatives, we hope to inspire women to prioritize their health and adopt sustainable lifestyle habits.”
Through these workshops, Wockhardt Hospitals reaffirmed its commitment to preventive healthcare and women’s wellness, encouraging women to become more aware of their health and take proactive steps toward long-term physical and mental wellbeing.
